On April, 22-28, 2015, the eleven session of National Standardized Training Program for Tumor Ablation Therapy Technology organized by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and undertaken byJiangsuProvincialTumorHospitalwas held inNanjing City,JiangsuProvince.
In order to strengthen the management of clinical application of medical technology, and establish the admittance and management system of the medical technology, promote the development of medical science and the progress of medical technology, improve the quality of medical care, guarantee the medical security, the Ministry of Health developed “Management Approach on the Clinical Application of Medical Technology” ([2009] No.18 document issued by the Department of Medical Administration of the Ministry of Health). In the published the first batch of class Ⅲ medical technologies, tumor ablation treatment technology has been incorporated in them, and “Management Practices of Tumor Ablation Therapy” ([2009] No.190 document issued by the Department of Medical Administration of the Ministry of Health) (hereinafter referred to as the “Management Practices”) was also issued. In “Management Practices”, it required that physicians engaged in tumor ablation treatment must participate in the relevant training of tumor ablation technology, and be qualified in the assessment. It is the key to the promotion of the technology how to correctly grasp the indications, pay attention to the role of image guidance and monitoring, avoid the occurrence of the complications, manage properly the complications, and according to the characteristics of the different technologies, carry out the classification guidance on the selection rules of each technology and the indication selection of the treatment.
In August, 2012, the Ministry of Health commissioned the Chinese Medical Doctor Association to organize “carry out the related work of standardized management of tumor ablation treatment technology, including the development of ‘Technical Specifications on Clinical Application of Tumor Ablation Treatment’ and other technical documents, and carry out the training for the relevant personnel and other works”. ([2012] No.260 document issued by the Department of Medical Administration of the Ministry of Health)
To this end, the Chinese Medical Doctor Association carried out specifically the program of “National Training on Standardization of Tumor Ablation Treatment Technology”. The program was based on the hospitals, according to the characteristics of the different tumor ablation treatment technologies, and carried out classification and staging training for the relevant personnel who had carried out or prepared to carry out this technology.
